Environmental & Waste Management Procedures

Purpose: To develop and establish a program to deal with any spilled materials and to be environmentally responsible when disposing of any used automotive fluids.

Policy: NOR Disposal Bins Ltd. has implemented environmental protection and waste management to reduce and ultimately prevent any harm or damage to the environment. As an integral component to our daily company operations and maintenance it is intended to protect, in addition to the environment, all company employees, drivers, clients, assets, property and the general public.

Administration: NOR Disposal Bins Ltd. will coordinate the administration of the program.

Objective: Primary objective is to Reuse, Recycle and Reduce.

Record Keeping: NOR Disposal Bins Ltd. will be responsible for monitoring spills and recording and reporting any spills of any kind and maintaining records of all recycled materials.

Components of Procedure:

Used Automotive Fluids: Any such fluids will be immediately collected and disposed of at a municipal or provincial recycling depot.

Batteries: Batteries of any kind will be immediately collected and disposed of at a municipal or provincial recycling depot.

Antifreeze: Any such fluids will be immediately collected and disposed of at a municipal or provincial recycling depot for hazardous waste recycling and disposal.

General Waste: All general waste will be disposed and transferred to proper receptacles with the exceptions of paper, glass, metal and plastic which are to be recycled whenever possible.

Spilt Liquids or Substances: Any spills unfamiliar to the employee must be halted until the supplier or known authority has identified correct procedures for cleaning and disposal. If the supplier or correct procedure cannot be located the local Hazard Materials Disposal Team will be contacted and provide advisement through the local emergency 911 contact.
